Pumpkin Spice Reigns Supreme

I went on a bit of a pumpkin frenzy this season. Not stopping at the lattes, I even put some in my mac and cheese a few weeks ago, a la this lovely recipe. My #fallcoffeechallenge allowed me to branch out from the #PSL and try other flavors, but I found myself dreaming of pumpkin spiced everything while sipping or indulging in a food from autumn’s other flavor palettes.

Not to say there weren’t some real winners in the bunch. It’s just that it goes to show how a seasonal favorite can get under your skin. But alas, here are the top coffees from my coffee challenge–with the understanding that Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte remains my main squeeze.

Gloria Jeans Maple Mocha Latte: I loved the sweet decadence of this latte, one of many fun fall flavors on Gloria Jeans' seasonal menu. Bonus points for pink lids.

Peet's Coffee & Tea: Mayan Mocha: Holy mocha! This rich concoction is for the ultimate cocoa lover, a taste reminiscent of 100% cacao--with spice to boot. It was intense.

Dollop Coffee and Tea (serving Metropolis coffee) Nutella Mocha: While not technically a fall drink, anything with Nutella deserves a spot on any list of mine. This is a rich, sweet, decadent treat in a modern, fun urban space.

Dunkin' Donuts Pumpkin Macchiato: Holy pumpkin! This one's for the ultimate pumpkin fan. It was almost too pumpkin-y--even for me! A yummy seasonal treat.

And, in case you were wondering, here’s how I presented my pumpkin mac and cheese:

Lastly, to end this on the highest note possible, here’s what a cookie pizza with Nutella frosting looks like:
